V2 endpoints FAQ
Introduction
On 3 June 2025, we released a set of enhanced API endpoints into beta, with a view to improve the developer experience and help your integrations meet the evolving needs of in-house legal teams.
- Simplified, more intuitive payloads
- Improved field identifiers
- Enhanced reference documentation
- Improved API responses
We’re starting with endpoints for intake, and for reading and updating fields on matters and contracts. Over time, we’ll add more endpoints to enhance existing features or introduce entirely new functionality.
Frequently asked questions
How can I join the beta?
Email developer@lawvu.com requesting access. We'll ask a few questions to ensure you can benefit.
Can I use V2 endpoints in a production integration during the beta period?
Yes, but we might need to make breaking changes to some endpoints based on feedback. This means you may need to troubleshoot and update quickly to keep your integration working.
Will my existing integrations break when V2 is released?
No. V1 endpoints will continue to function until officially retired. We’ll provide clear communication ahead of time to make sure you have the support you need for the migration.
What about V1 endpoints that do not yet have a V2 equivalent?
You can continue using these V1 endpoints until we release new V2 endpoints. We’ll share updates about migration and the eventual deprecation of V1 when we are closer to launching new V2 endpoints.
When will V1 endpoints be deprecated?
- 1 February 2026: New integrations relying on deprecated V1 endpoints can no longer be approved for production use
- 1 December 2026: All v1 endpoints will be permanently retired
Where can I see more details?
Technical documentation is available here. These new endpoints can be found under the “API reference (beta)” menu. V1 endpoints can be found under “Legacy API reference”.
